Children’s Ministry – 03/29/2020

Dear Beloved Parents and Sunday School Kids:

It’s been two (2) Sundays since we didn’t have Church and Sunday School classes because of Covid 19. Though, there are things that we don’t understand especially what’s happening now. But, as children of God, we do not seek or need any explanations from our Father in Heaven but we LIVE by HIS PROMISES.

For years, your children were at our care Sunday after Sunday, nurturing them through God’s Word. We have one desire as SS teachers and that is one day they will surrender their lives to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We love them truly and we miss them so much.

As we abide by this home quarantine, our hearts are for your children. We don’t want them to miss our Sunday School classes. As such, we have compiled some lessons you can give to your children every Sunday or for the whole week whatever is convenient for you.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Study the weekly lesson we will be providing for you;

2. Prepare the things you will be needing for the activities;

3. Schedule a regular day for a Bible Lesson for your kid/s;

4. Gather them during your agreed schedule with excitement and enthusiasm;

5. Pray together before you start or you may sing songs of praise;

6. Share to them the Bible Lesson (you may add anything to make the lesson more personal and fun);

7. Let them do the activities. This can be done as an assignment or right there and then;

8. Reward them if you like.

Thank you so much for your time. Your time with them will always be remembered and embedded in their hearts. Give our hugs and kisses to your kids – our dear Sunday School children.

God bless everyone!

Love from your SS Teachers: Salve, Lucing, Jehrameel, Cathy, Diechie, Chierail

Lesson For This Week

Not Just for Emergencies

Theme: Prayer is not just for emergencies
Scripture: Psalm 18:6
Props: A cell phone

I brought my cell phone today just in case we have some kind of emergency. You know – if there’s a fire or if someone needs an ambulance. If that happens, what number do I dial? Right! 911! You dial 911 and the dispatcher says, “911. What is your emergency?” And then they send whatever help you need.

You know, some people think of prayer as a kind of 911. Whenever they have a problem they pray. Maybe a problem at work, or money problems, or even a problem with someone at school. They pray and ask God to help them. It’s like sending up a 911 to God.

And we should take our problems to God. King David did. In Psalm 18:6 he says, “I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice.” So David sent a 911 up to God and God heard him.

But do we use our cell phones only for emergencies? No! And we shouldn’t use prayer only for emergencies, either. God wants us to talk to Him about everything, not just emergencies. We should tell Him what we’re thankful for. Maybe tell Him what we’re excited about. And He especially likes it when we tell Him how much we love Him.

I mean, how would you like it if you had a friend who only talked to you when he had a problem and the only thing he ever said to you was, “Help me! Help me!”? It’s the same with God. He does want to us to turn to Him when we have an emergency, but prayer isn’t just for emergencies.

In fact, let’s pray now. Dear Father, we thank You that we can talk to You in prayer. Help us to remember that we can talk to you anytime about anything. We thank you in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
